“change over time 2,” or “beer and difficult music”

Hello, world! For my first post on the new site/blog, I’m thrilled to announce an upcoming evening of music by myself and my friend Colin Brogan, to take place in Tuscaloosa, AL.

November 12, 2011

Doors open 7:30PM, music begins 8PM

2913 6th Street
Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401

Peter Sloan:
Trio for Metal Instruments, for flute, vibraphone, and horn
Points, Lines, Spaces, for flute, violin, cello, and piano
The Problem of Evil, for tenor, flute, clarinet, violin, cello, and piano
Improvisation Noise-to-Signal, for trombone and lawn mower

Colin Brogan:
Electronic Study 1b, for digital sound
Three Piano Miniatures, for solo piano

Peter Sloan and Colin Brogan, featuring Jack Thomason:
…change over time…, for electric guitar, piano, and drumset

The recital was a success last April, and we’d love to build on that! Bring a beverage (or six), invite your friends, and join us for a night of interesting people and weird music (or is it vice versa?).

ps – Here’s thefacebook event.

pps – In other news, welcome to the new blog! On it, you will find regular updates about my creative work as well as archives of media samples. Soon, I hope to include a weekly discussion post with a fellow blogger and perhaps even some interdisciplinary video-chats with various friends. Check back for updates!
